Prémio Nobel da Literatura 2013

Parabéns a Alice Munro, reconhecida com o Prémio Nobel da Literatura, pela sua mestria na escrita de contos que, de acordo com a Academia Sueca, focam «a fragilidade da condição humana». A escritora nasceu a 10 de julho de 1931, em Wingham, no Canadá. Em 2009 já havia sido agraciada com o prestigiado Man International Booker Prize.
Munro publicou mais de uma dúzia de coletâneas de contos, muitas delas já editadas em Portugal, incluindo a mais recente, Amada Vida (Dear Life: Stories, 2012). Eis alguns excertos desta coletânea:

“We say of some things that they can't be forgiven, or that we will never forgive ourselves. But we do-we do it all the time.” 


“The thing is to be happy,' he said. 'No matter what. Just try that. You can. It gets to be easier and easier. It's nothing to do with circumstances. You wouldn't believe how good it is. Accept everything and then tragedy disappears. Or tragedy lightens, anyway, you're just there, going along easy in the world.”
